How did you come up with your blog name?

My blog was originally called "Skye Blogs Books", because that was obvious and I couldn't think of one. Then I just got fed up with how boring it was and googled figures of speech with book in the title. The main result was "to be in someone's good books". And thus In The Good Books was born.

Share your current fav television show! Tell us a bit about it...

The only TV shows I watch are Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars, both based on books. Gossip Girl is a drama about a bunch of Upper East Siders and the anonymous Gossip Girl who posts tips on their secrets. Pretty Little Liars is about a group of girls who's friend dies mysteriously and someone who adopts her identity and blackmails them and threatens to spill their secrets.
Thinking about it, both shows are really alike.

If you are a fan of Science Fiction what is your favorite book? If you haven't read Science Fiction before...any inkling to? Anything catch your eye?

I'm not not a fan of science fiction, but I don't read it often. When people say 'science fiction', I always think Star Wars and the like.
My favorite science fiction novels also fall into the dystopian genre: Across The Universe by Beth Revis and Unwind by Neal Shusterman.

What is your favorite romance hero-type? Stereotype wise. Do you like the strong silent type or the brute macho man?

I prefer the strong silent type, so long as they're not the emo/sullen kind of silent. I like my guys quiet, with a sarcastic/wry sense of humor. I think I prefer them because I'm sarcastic to a fault and kind of short-spoken myself.

This week's question is what is/was your favorite subject in math?
My favorite subject is Mathematical Methods, which is advanced advanced math. I'm a math freak - it comes really naturally to me. I also enjoy Physics and Chemistry. All of my electives are science or math based, which is probably weird given that I'm such an avid reader/writer.

This week's question is Who do you cheer for?
I'm going to have to answer this question in terms of Australian Rules Football, being Australian.
I barrack for Footscray's Western Bulldogs. I used to cheer for Geelong, like the rest of my family, but I changed teams (traitor, I know) when I was 8 and our school had a Footy Parade and all of my friends went for the Bulldogs.
But really, I don't follow or watch football. I'll watch the Grand Final, maybe, but not much else.

Currently, just my dog. His name's Java and he's a West Highland Terrier mixed with God-knows-what. In the past we've had fish (who all quickly moved on to the fish afterlife known as the toilet bowl), rabbits, and cockatiels.

Today's question is What book(s) have you discovered lately from someone's book blog?
The other day I saw someone's review of Mercy by Rebecca Lim that made it sound really good, so that on hold at my library.
I've also added a lot of as yet unreleased books to my TBR list that I see featured on other peoples' Waiting On Wednesday posts, a la Across The Universe, Divergent, A Touch Mortal, Like Mandarin, etc.

Today's question is What are your New Years' book blogging resolutions?

I want to write better reviews and keep posting them frequently, even after school starts back up.
I want to have more posts that aren't reviews or memes. And, I want to comment more on others' posts. I look at and like a lot of posts without ever commenting, and I think that if it were my post I'd like the feedback.

Today's question is what are you plans for this fabulous day?
My Christmas day is always spent at home with my immediate family. We open presents in the morning, have a roast lunch, and afterwards it's just a normal day. My mother's family is coming over on Boxing Day for a bigger celebration.

I'm still a high school student, myself, in my last year. I do plan on going to university, to study either Nuclear Medicine, or else Science, and choose a nuclear pathway from there.

Me, I like going out with friends. I like going ice skating, and swimming. And I'm obsessed with playing Sims 3. I also like playing Trivial Pursuit, since I found a really, really old version of the board game while cleaning a few months ago.
